EOCO arrests Kofi Jumah over allegations of financial irregularities

Kofi Jumah was granted police enquiry bail on April 29, 2026, set at GH¢65 million, but has not yet satisfied the conditions.

His arrest followed a raid on his residence in Kumasi as part of EOCO’s ongoing investigations into alleged breaches of public financial management regulations during his tenure at GIHOC Distilleries Company Limited.

Kofi Jumah is being investigated over several allegations, including the acquisition and use of company vehicles, alleged unauthorised sale of corporate assets, and claims of inflated staff numbers during his tenure. One of the key issues under investigation involves the sale of a Genesis G90 saloon car to him.

He is also accused of retaining two additional company vehicles after leaving office, including an Audi valued at over $60,000.

One of the vehicles was reportedly used by a family member before being returned.

Investigators are further examining allegations surrounding the sale of GIHOC properties in Tema, reportedly valued at over $700,000
