NDC sacks official for selling nomination forms to Muntaka’s challenger

The Ashanti Regional Secretary of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mr. Kwame Zu has relieved his female Personal Assistant of her position after the latter is said to have sold nomination forms to supporters of one Mabarick Masawudu, seeking to contest the sitting Member of Parliament (MP), in the party’s internal elections.

“I am relieving her of her position now for taking a decision without my consent. As watchman, you don’t have any right to sleep with my wife”, the NDC scribe announced on Kumasi-based Nhyira FM during a telephone interview monitored by MyNewsGh.com.

This comes after the official statement from the party said, the incumbent MP for Asawase, Hon. Muntaka Mubarak will not face any competition in the forthcoming NDC constituency primary as it emerged, and he is the only person to have picked his form.

“For my information, only Hon. Mohammed Muntaka Mubarak picked a form and I can confirm that”, Mr. Kwame Zu told host Nhyira FM morning show, Aduanaba Kofi Asante Ennin.

But Fatiu Salihu, a spokesperson for the Concerned NDC Youth in the Asawase Constituency and a staunch supporter of Mr. Masawudu, explained that the constituency executives of the party were deliberately trying to frustrate their candidate from contesting the incumbent MP.

Meanwhile, Mubarick Masawudu has resolved to retire the sitting Member of Parliament (MP) for Asawase constituency despite his desire to seek reelection in the face of stiffer opposition from within his own party.
